Grassroots International would like to pay tribute to Mel King, a great civil rights leader, organizer, and human rights defender in Boston, where the office of Grassroots International is based. Mel passed away at 94 years old recently.
When we talk about Black history, we must recognize and pay homage to this rich history of resistance around food and land that is an essential part of it.
Black August is a much needed practice to uplift our collective Black humanity. This month, Grassroots International has been deepening our understanding of the revolutionary roots of Black August, as they apply to our work and that of our partners and allies across the globe.
