Sector de Mujeres is a network of 33 organizations in Guatemala, focused on building a powerful movement for all women — including Mother Earth. They are also a member organization of the World March of Women.
A key ally since 2011, Sector de Mujeres works in a multi-sectoral way, linking groups that work on a variety of issues, including indigenous and peasant women’s groups, lesbian rights organizations, artisans, and women’s health groups. The organization is also clear that the primary struggle in Guatemala today is the struggle for territory rights. They also work closely with our partner the Peasant Unity Committee, and we are excited to welcome them as partners
