Farmers Need Fair Prices, Not NAFTA-Lite and Meager Tariff Aid
The National Family Farm Coalition (NFFC) condemns the Trump Administration's recent trade and agricultural policies. These measures will not return prosperity to rural America.
Since 1986, the NFFC has worked toward its mission of “providing a voice for grassroots groups on farm, food, trade and rural economic issues to ensure fair prices for family farmers and fishers, safe and healthy food, and vibrant, environmentally sound rural communities here and around the world.” NFFC has grown to represent family farm, fishing and rural groups in 30 states across the country.
From the early days of its work, NFFC has tracked the disastrous effects of corporate control on the food system and federal farm programs. These failures have led more farmers to question policy that devalues their land and labor. NFFC members work to promote food sovereignty, broader access to USDA programs, environmental protection, economic security and long-term stability for family farmers, fishermen/women, and their communities.
NFFC continues to play a critical role both as a national organization of family farmers, as well as an anchor organization for La Vía Campesina North America in the US.

The National Family Farm Coalition, a Grassroots International partner organization, celebrates the defeat of the regressive farm bill in the U.S. House of Representatives. Last fall, Grassroots signed onto the NFFC's letter to Congress described in the press release linked here.
