Grassroots International is a founding member of the HAWG, a working group of international development, faith-based, human rights and social justice organizations advocating on issues related to United States-Haiti Policy.
HAWG formed in 2010 shortly after the devastating earthquake to coordinate advocacy efforts for effective and just disaster relief, reconstruction and long-term US development policy toward Haiti. HAWG is composed of more than 30 diverse groups representing a wide cross-section of the NGO community. Today the group works on elections, cholera, the issue of statelessness in the Dominican Republic, climate change, and more.
