Orson is the Director of Administration and Finance at Grassroots International. He joined Grassroots International in 1995 as an administrative assistant. The following year, he assumed the lead role in finance and administration on the Grassroots staff, and has continued in that capacity through successive cycles of organizational growth. While steering Grassroots International’s stewardship of resources destined for social movements, he has planned and led big and small improvements in organizational competency to meet each new challenge.

In the 80s and 90s, Orson was an activist against nuclear weapons and for environmental rights. A child of immigrant parents, he has also served as both a leader and follower in Korean American and Asian Pacific American community organizations. Outside of his day job, he currently volunteers with Political Research Associates, working to block right-wing movements while collaborating with movements of people targeted by the right. To refocus and regenerate, he spends time with his family, trees, water, fresh (and not so fresh) ingredients, kitchen utensils, and the countless forms of human art.
