Grassroots International

Deepen your knowledge about and solidarity with social movements on a Grassroots International delegation

In July 2024, we will bring a delegation of fifteen donor-activists to Brazil for a process of shared learning and solidarity building with our movement partners there. We hope you will consider applying to be part of this delegation!

We will attend a portion of the National Congress of the Landless Workers Movement (MST), a massive movement gathering that takes place every five years; visit an MST encampment, where workers have taken back land and are building community and farming agroecologically; and connect with other movement partners to learn about their visions, analyses, and work. Check out this video from the last MST Congress to get a sense of what some of the experience will be like.

The delegation will be a space of deep political formation and community building, with the goal of advancing our praxis of internationalist solidarity philanthropy among emerging and core members of our active donor community.

Priority will be given to applicants who intend to be part of our donor community on an ongoing basis. Previous delegation experience is not necessary, nor is it necessary to have any particular connection to Brazil. This is an opportunity to experience mass movements in action, to witness their transformative efforts first-hand, and to deepen your understanding of Grassroots International’s movement accompaniment work. Donors of all giving levels are welcome.

If you are interested in applying or have questions about the opportunity, please email us at development@grassrootsonline.org and we will share more information. The deadline to apply is April 12.
