Transformation and Solidarity: Interview with MST member Rita Zanotto
Recently Rita Zanotto from the Landless Workers Movement (MST) sat down with Grassroots International’s Sara Mersha to talk about global movements, partnership and power.
Like Grassroots International, the MST is celebrating their 30th anniversary. In February, approximately 15,000 small farmers, landless workers and agrarian reform leaders will gather to plot the course ahead for the next generation of resistance and transformation. You can support this work and help launch a new decade for agrarian reform and popular resistance.
Since 1998, Grassroots International has accompanied the MST in the process of achieving land reform in Brazil. During that time, more than 350,000 families have claimed more than 17 million acres of land, and moved from landlessness and hunger to vibrant settlements with schools, health care and sustainable agricultural production.
