Walking from Boston to Provincetown to Bring Medicine to Palestine

July 2006

Not a day goes by when I don’t think about Palestine and the desperate situation there. Both the Israeli and Palestinian populations live in fear of attacks but the Palestinians are suffering a humanitarian crisis of horrid proportions.

I can’t just sit by and watch the suffering continue so on August 4th I’m walking–in 36 hours straight, from Boston to Provincetown (123 miles). I’ve never done anything like this before but if a long walk, stopping to talk to people and reporters helps raise awareness of and money for Palestine, then it will be worth it.

I am fortunate to work for an organization that can do something concrete–even if it is something small–about the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Grassroots International has been able to secure a donation of $500,000 in urgently needed medical supplies. We just need to raise $20,000 to ship it to Palestine. I’m hoping my walk will raise most of the funds.

If you would like to join me in solidarity by making a donation, please click here.

If you would like to walk a portion of the route with me, please email me.

In peace and solidarity,

Marty Wrin
