
Platfòm Ayisyen Pledwaye Pou Devlopman Altènatif (Plataforma Haitiana pela Defesa de um Desenvolvimento Alternativo) – PAPDA
A Platfòm Ayisyen Pledwaye Pou Devlopman Altènatif (Plataforma Haitiana pela Defesa de um Desenvolvimento Alternativo), fundada em 1995, é uma coalizão de nove organizações haitianas que colaboram na promoção de um novo Haiti, na contestação dos tratados de comércio injustos que devastam a vida dos/as camponeses/as do país e na promoção de políticas públicas baseadas no bem comum.
A PAPDA atua em diversas áreas temáticas, inclusive dívida externa, integração alternativa, soberania alimentar, democracia participativa e descentralização, justiça climática e solidariedade internacional. Busca desenvolver soluções únicas e eficazes para a fome ao mesmo tempo que faz pressão por transformações estruturais nas políticas alimentares e agrícolas do Haiti.
O trabalho da PAPDA na construção de movimentos pelo controle local dos sistemas alimentares (soberania alimentar) desafia as estratégias mais tradicionais da “segurança alimentar”, altamente baseada na importação de ajuda alimentar e destrutiva para a produção e consumo dos grãos e leguminosas locais.
A PAPDA ganhou renome internacional como uma ONG haitiana que oferece tanto uma crítica baseada em pesquisas e documentação de qualidade sobre as políticas de ajuste estrutural quanto um conjunto de alternativas concretas a essas políticas. A promoção de alternativas com foco na justiça para o Haiti envolve a pesquisa e a documentação dos problemas econômicos, consultas e estratégias, a educação pública e a comunicação, a pressão sobre as autoridades e a articulação internacional.
A PAPDA colabora diretamente com as cooperativas e as organizações camponesas, abordando de modo dinâmico a demanda por terra, criando sistemas eficazes de produção e escoamento de produtos, resistindo às grilagens de terras e promovendo uma luta nacional pela reforma agrária.
