SamYoon

Sam Yoon (they/them) is the Executive Coordinator at Grassroots International. Their ever-evolving professional career has taken them through multiple fields, including telecommunications, veterinary medicine, real estate, and community library stewardship, with a side-dash of events organizing. But after hearing ‘no’ from society a few too many times, this queer child of immigrants decided it was time to start actively living and working for a more just and diverse world of identities, food structures, and ecosystems.

They love exploring nuance and new solutions, reading the freshest new speculative fiction, and can schedule-Tetris with the best of them. When not reading, Sam can be found hanging out with their beautiful cat, searching out the perfect bubble tea, spinning all sorts of yarns (either on the wheel or at an open mic), or diving into the next new craft that catches their interest: papermaking, woodcarving, rug-weaving… the list goes on and on!

NB: They are not former Boston city councilman Sam Yoon, but they have shaken his hand, which almost counts.
