COVID-19: Global Solidarity Across Movements

#Event
May 2020

GRASSROOTS INTERNATIONAL

The COVID-19 pandemic is a multiplier — for violence, racism, patriarchy, and settler colonialism both in the United States and around the world. But how are social movements responding?

Join us for a webinar featuring Global South voices from Palestine, Puerto Rico, and the United States. What do frontline communities need for support, and what lessons can they teach?

Speakers:

  • Katia Avilés-Vázquez is a member of La Jornada Se Acabaron Las Promesas movement and a member of the National Coordination of Organización Boricuá de Agricultura Ecológica.
  • Dr. Mustafa Barghouti is a physician, longtime human rights activist, and founder of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society.
  • Trina Jackson is the Building Equity and Alignment for Impact (BEAI) Fund Director for Grassroots International. In her position, she supports environmental justice social movements in the United States and Puerto Rico.

This is an important opportunity to hear from grassroots organizers. We hope you can join us!
