Coordinadora Paz para la Mujer

Across Puerto Rico, addressing gender-based violence has required a diverse array of solutions. Coordinadora Paz para la Mujer, a coalition of 35 organizations, coordinates efforts to make the most impact on the archipelago.

Coordinadora Paz para la Mujer (CPM) is a coalition of 35 organizations and 14 individual members in Puerto Rico who are tackling gender-based violence. The coalition is made up of emergency shelters, service organizations, universities, feminists, and human rights activists.

CPM provides community, education, technical assistance and referral support for survivors of gender-based violence and for other organizations working with survivors and their children. It also serves as a fiscal organization for La Colectiva Feminista and other grassroots groups.

Since 2018, CPM has started work with rural women and LGBTQIA+ people through the Centro Paz Para Ti (CPPT), a center located in the mountains of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Through the CPPT, CPM has advanced initiatives to eliminate gender-based violence and offer survivors tools for economic self-management.
