IALA México

A peasant- and Indigenous-led process of political and technical training in agroecology.

IALA México is a peasant- and Indigenous-led process of political and technical training in agroecology aimed at articulating struggles for food sovereignty across México. It connects the rich histories of peasant organizing and Indigenous resistance among the country’s diverse communities.

Launched in 2022, IALA México now involves fifteen regional organizations from ten of México’s 31 states. It operates through 11 “territorial IALAs” articulating agroecology training processes nationwide. It is unique in its decentralized or “territorialized” praxis.
